KITTIES EXPRESS THEIR DELIGHT IN STRANGE WAYS!

In my experience as a cat boarder, I have encountered a number of kitties, each with his/her own distinct personality. They also each express their delight in different ways. Some purr, some head-bonk, some roll over and expose their soft, furry bellies. However your cat tells you he's happy, you can respond with soft words, gentle petting, and an exchange of toy play.

Because a cat is unique, it may be confusing to have one cat that purrs when you rub his belly and another who tries to bite you when you do so. The cat who tries to bite isn't necessarily mad at you; he may just be overstimulated. You will only know this by trial and error.

If you've adopted a cat, it will take some time to get accustomed to his/her ways, likes, dislikes, and behaviors. I imagine he/she feels the same way about you. PATIENCE IS KEY!

This is not a process that can be rushed. Take your time, and get to know your cat by sitting quietly with your feline friend, speaking softly, and extending your fingers for a good sniff. This may be enough to do the trick, or it may take hours, days, weeks, or even months to win kitty over. Don't give up. It's well worth the time you spend to win the heart of a kitty. They will provide years of love, affection, and companionship to you, and you will never be sorry you made a place for them in your life.
